EMAB Recommendations

EMAB Recommendations

What happens when EMAB makes a recommendation?

EMAB makes recommendations to Diavik, the regulators and the Parties to the Agreement. We make recommendations when regulators raise issues, or when regulators and Diavik disagree on an issue. EMAB also makes recommendations when Diavik or the regulators do not address an issue we think is important. The Environmental Agreement says our recommendations are to be taken seriously and given full consideration. Regulators and Diavik must respond within 60 days. They must accept our recommendations or give us reasons why they didn't.

EMAB recommendations can be found in our Annual Reports.
